AGA Strengthens Asia Pacific Leadership Team with Three New Appointments

Pang is the Founder and Managing Partner of IPO Pang Shenjun, AGA’s law firm representative in Shanghai; Varghese is Co-Founding Partner at Counselence, AGA's law firm representative in Bangalore, India; and Takahashi is Managing Partner at ARK Outsourcing, the Alliance’s accounting firm representative in Japan. Their three-year appointments are effective September 1.

AGA is one of the world’s fastest-growing global alliances with 240 accounting and law firms in over 100 countries. The Alliance’s regional committees play a key role in its governance, representing member firms’ interests and helping to shape regional strategy in consultation with the Board and Global Executive Office team. 

These appointments coincide with a period of rapid regional growth, with AGA now offering legal, tax, audit, and accounting services from 45 offices across 20 countries in Asia, the Greater China region and Australasia. 

Working alongside the region’s Chair and Zone Managers, Varghese, Pang, and Takahashi will advise on strategic direction, act as the Alliance’s “eyes and ears” in their respective jurisdictions and contribute to projects designed to support the region’s development and the wider global Alliance.

Reflecting on his appointment as Special Advisor for China, Pang commented:

Varghese, who will represent the interests of member firms in India, added:

“I am delighted to take on this role and help shape the next phase of AGA’s strategy in India, an increasingly important market for the Alliance. I look forward to strengthening connections between our Indian firms and the wider global membership, turning our shared expertise into meaningful collaboration and new cross-border opportunities for members and their clients.”

Looking ahead to his work on the Committee, specifically his role representing the interests of the Asia accounting firm members, Takahashi said:

“AGA’s accounting firms have an important role to play in supporting internationally active businesses across Asia Pacific. I look forward to bringing that perspective to the Committee, encouraging the exchange of practical knowledge, and helping our firms respond to evolving client needs and wider developments in the market.”
